Last year, the Basler Gesangverein honoured me with a commission for a composition for choir and orchestra, to be performed in their winter concerts of 2025. Now that it is official and soon to be published by Universal Edition, I am incredibly grateful and proud to announce that "The Evening Star" ("Der Abendstern", "Luceafarul" in Romanian) has been completed!
The inspiration for this piece comes from the most treasured Romanian poet, whose mesmerising verses I have always dreamt of making music on: Mihai Eminescu. I have chosen his most famous poem, "The Evening Star", for my piece as its plot mirrors the one of the other piece performed in the concert: Both texts revolve around a mortal and an immortal character who meet each other, but the outcome is completely different in each of the stories.

IMPROVISATION COURSE
