Written in 2006 and revised in 2013, the Variations are based on one of Händel's most famous themes:  the Sarabande in D minor. As the 9 variations unfold, the technical difficulty and harmonic complexity rise, developing into a fugue in Variation 8 and reaching the peak in a highly polyphonic and gloriously resounding last variation.
