Commissioned for an Advent concert and subsequently performed by a small female choir, Da Dona Nobis Pacem is a vocal piece of short duration and low technical requirements. The unpretentious number of ensemble members make it flexible to put together and easy to perform, especially as the piano part can be substituted by a church organ. The piece emanates a fragile and intimate character, underlining the imploring lyrics of the Agnus Dei section of the Latin mass: "Give us peace".
